We plan to host an achievement exhibition with the following purposes: celebrating the 10th anniversary of the founding of SUSTech, comprehensively reflecting SUSTech’s development trajectory and achievements in the last decade, disseminating SUSTechers’ spirit of ‘Dare to Try, Seeking Truth, Pursuing Innovation, and Striving for Excellence’, and bringing into full play the guiding role of the university’s history. We now appeal to all our staff and students, alumni and people from all walks of life who are concerned for the solicitation of historical materials related to SUSTech.

 

The following contains further information:

 

I. Content

1. Photos, videos, dedication words and group photos recording the visit and speech of prominent leaders, celebrities and foreign guests; videos and photos capturing various events of SUSTech and valuable congratulatory letters, congratulatory calls and gifts.

2. Monographs, papers, biographies, translated works, memoirs, journals, letters, scripts, notes, memorable office and daily objects, certificates of merits, prizes, employment offer letters, letters of appointment, scripts of important speeches and investigation reports of university leaders who had made remarkable contributions to the development of SUSTech, prominent experts and scholars, celebrities, national model workers and exemplary individuals, and exceptional alumni.

3. Calligraphy and painting works, dedication words, sculptures, art objects and other precious gifts presented by leaders at different levels and celebrities to departments and individuals of SUSTech.

4. Honorary materials such as certificates of merits, medals, trophies at or above province or ministry level awarded to SUSTech’s functional institutions, schools and departments, research platforms, institutions directly under its administration or its affiliations and associations.

5. Major achievements or anecdotes of remarkable social influence of SUSTech’s incumbent students and graduates, such as employment offer letters, certificates, photos and media coverage.

6. Characteristic materials such as textbooks, teaching plans, teaching syllabuses, lecture handouts, students’ assignments and internship plans in different periods.

7. Representative documents of teachers and students in different periods, including admission notice, student ID card, staff card, academic certificate and other credentials.

8. Admissions introduction and table of admissions quotas in different periods.

9. Journals and other important printed materials published by SUSTech.

10. Emblems, seals and plaques of SUSTech in different periods.

11. Videos or photos of buildings and scenery of SUSTech in different periods.

12. Important videos, photos and physical objects reflecting SUSTech’s development, teaching, research, internship, practice activities, campus culture, sport life and events of alumni associations.

13. Teaching and research facilities and equipment of historic value.

14. Other memorable text materials, videos, photos and physical objects of societal value.

 

II. Ways of solicitation

Comprehensive Archives Office of SUSTech receives and handles collection of historical materials of SUSTech.

i. Donations

1. Direct delivery: Donors bring related historical materials or physical objects to the Comprehensive Archives Office of SUSTech.

2. Mail service: Donors use mail services to deliver related historical materials or physical objects to the designated address. Attached should provide name of the donor, detailed address, Zip code and contact.

3. In-person visit: Donors who are with a tight schedule or are advanced in age thus encountering inconvenience can contact us via phone or email. We will pay an in-person visit to receive the donation.

ii. Escrow and replica: SUSTech can escrow precious materials and physical objects (with an escrow agreement being signed between the two parties) or return the original after having its replica.

iii. Other ways of solicitation agreed by the two parties.

 

III. Requirements

1. Solicitation period: Starting from the release of this announcement.

2. Donors providing the materials or physical objects that meet the solicitation requirements are expected to attach a brief description noting the relevant time, place, story, name and job of the person(s) involved; brief introduction about the physical objects is also expected to be attached.

3. Relevant departments of SUSTech will systematically sort out, register, tabulate and carefully preserve the materials or physical objects being received. A donation certificate will be awarded to the donating groups or individuals. SUSTech will follow relevant regulations to manage the donation and note the origin of the objects open to display.

4. SUSTech will organize relevant experts to authenticate the donated materials or physical objects with special value.

5. SUSTech technically holds the ownership of the donated materials or physical objects. All donors enjoy the priority to utilize their donated materials or physical objects.
