Faculty
Dr. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Physics at the University of Chicago in 2019. Subsequently, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Physics at Syracuse University and the Department of Applied Mathematics at Harvard University. In January 2025, he joined Southern University of Science and Technology as a dual-appointed assistant professor in the Center for Complex Fluids and Soft Matter and the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering. Dr. He's research is mainly inspired by biomechanical or industrial production problems, focusing on fluid instabilities and complex pattern formation, the elasticity of slender objects, and the complexity of their coupling phenomena. He has published multiple papers as the first or corresponding author in high-level academic journals such as PRL, PNAS, and PRFluids, and is dedicated to combining experiments with theory to observe fundamental principles in complex systems and discover new functions and applications.
