Personal Profile

Quan Liu, M.D., Ph.D., is an associate professor in the School of Medicine at SUSTech as well as a junior attending surgeon. Dr. Liu achieved his Medical Degree from Harbin Medical University (HMU) in 2002. He received his surgical training at the Second Affiliated Hospital of HMU from late 2002 through 2008 and specialized in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Liu moved forward for his Ph.D. degree and spent over 8 years (from 2009 to 2017) at the University of Pittsburgh. He studied transplantation immunobiology, inflammation regulation, and immunobiology of IL-33 and regulatory T cells (Treg) in the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh with Drs. Heth Turnquist and Adrian Morelli.
