NIE Mingzhe

Nie Mingzhe, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on soft materials such as hydrogels/ionic gels, with an emphasis on developing and applying novel neural interfaces/brain-computer interfaces and neuromorphic devices. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020. From 2020 to 2025, he worked at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Researcher. In recent years, he has published multiple first-author (including co-first author) papers in journals such as ACS Nano and Nano Research. He has also led several research projects, including the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Project, the Shenzhen Basic Research General Program, and the Outstanding Youth Fund of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has received honors such as the Youth Science Award (Excellent Prize) from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Outstanding Staff Award from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
