SELF-INTRODUCTION:

Wang, Ying is now an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at SUSTech from 2022. Prior to joining to SUSTech, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, Davis working on cardiac physiology and pathology using genetically encoded FRET-based biosensors, optical imaging and transgenetic mouse models. She completed her Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Engineering degree in Guizhou University (2008-2012) and Ph.D in Cardiovascular Pharmacology in the Fudan University (2012-2016). Over the years, Ying's work has led to a great track record of SCI publications, including the high-impact journal like Circulation Research (3 of 10, 2 first author, 1 middle author), and a patent. Additionally, she was awarded American heart association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship (USD $140,752.00), multiple academic travel, presentation awards and a prestigious Chinese grant (2022). Ying is now serving as a reviewer editor and guest editor for several journals, including Advanced Science, Cells etc.

Research:

My lab focuses on the spatial compartmentalization and heterogeneity of GPCR signaling in cardiac physiology and pathology. I aim to define patient-specific therapeutic strategies for heart diseases targeting the spatiotemporal regulation of GPCR signaling and Ca2+ in diverse cardiac pathogenesis (e.g., heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, inflammation, etc.) and to provide innovative therapeutic strategies for cardiac diseases treatment. My current research topics include:

1、Targeting GPCR signaling nanodomains to regulate cardiac excitation-contraction coupling)

2、Ca2+ dysregulation in heart failure progression and arrhythmogenesis

3、Polypharmacology in the cardiovascular system
